OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

PQ is the diameter of a circle, center O and S is a point on the circumference. The perpendiculars from P and Q to the tangent of the circle at S meet at R and S respectively. Given that RS = 0.8 OS, find the ratio of the area of ∆PRS to that of ∆SOQ.

Diagram of the question, not very well drawn though...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please give measure of OS which i think you have missed out the 2 triangles, PRS and STQ are similar triangles. Also pl check if ratio of triangle PRS and SOQ is needed to be found, or PRS and STQ?

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

Given: ∆PRS is similar to ∆STQ RS : TQ = 1 : 2
