Mr. Crocker can paint his house by himself in three days. His sonw ill needs an additional day to complete his job if he works alone. If they work together, find how long it takes to paint the house.

in one day: Mr C --> 1/3 house, son --> 1/4 house. that the is the same as Mr C --> 4/12 house, son --> 3/12 house. add both together: in one day, together they will paint 7/12 of the house. 12/7 = 1 5/7... they will take 1 5/7 days to paint the house:)
