If x and y are positive integers, and 2003x = 2004y, what is the least possible value of x? How would you solve this problem? How would you even think of where to start? When I see problems Like this I just freeze up!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the least possible value of x would be 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer book says 2004

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh yeah... forgot that both x and y must be integers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But how would you figure out how to solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you must use division

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it must be 2004

OpenStudy (anonymous):

any lower number would make y a non integer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would you divide
