Haha and all of the little ones before it for that matter... I don't think they'll ever tell us :P
We made some performance improvements (we think). A lot less hits on the database, but traded off for a single choke point that does the lookup for everyone. We're trying to make things not suck as much when there are a lot of people on. We've got some bigger performance improvements in the wings, but they're tied to some big changes to the site we're making, so they aren't going live for a couple of weeks. I wanted to try getting these improvements out there now so we could see how they behave.
Shouldnt having bigger servers (i know its expensive) solve the problem? (just asking)
