OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

What is the width of an alpha-helix (secondary structure of protein)? 5.4 Angstrom or 3.6 residue/turn 1.5 Angstrom between two adjacent alpha-carbons

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5.4

OpenStudy (ookawaiioo):

I got the answer...... it depends on the # of amino acids/residues within the alpha helix. 3.6 residue/turn/or 13 atoms starting from the oxygen of the carbonyl to the hydrogen on the amine 12 atoms aways from the oxygen in an alpha helix.
