Is there any way of reducing by a lot the hacking community in a gaming site used by million of players?
I would use one of those randomized number and letter systems. I would also add questions that can be used to recover accounts and change passwords. Lock down the area that holds all the account information with higher level security. Also advise your users to use better passwords. I hope this was helpful.
I was meaning to people that hacks the games... they arent inside the website servers (except some of them). The highscores are being sended to the servers. How to prevent people from hacking the game, changing the sol files or using cheat engine?
I'd say avoid having systems that contribute information like this based on the terminal machines. This data should be passively collected and stored at the servers while the game is in use so then there is nothing the end user can mess with.
