if two lines have equal slopes, the two lines are parallel. TRUE OR FALSE, IF FALSE PROVIDE BACK UP TO PROVE IT

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

parallel or coincident (on top of each other)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

True

OpenStudy (anonymous):

coincident may be considered as a trivial case of parallel, i don't know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i just checked. the definition of parallel lines is: Two lines in two-dimensional Euclidean space are said to be parallel if they do not intersect. (Wolfram)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2x+3y=5 and 4x+6y=10 have the same slope, but they intresect everywhere.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think a coincidental line intersects right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes they do (everywhere along the line), i was just providing ka...laaa's counterexample
