suppose (x^2/26)+(y^2/64)=1 and y(1)=7.88811 Find y'(1) by implicit diffentiation I get y'=16x/9y but I'm not sure where to go from there to get y'(1)?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what ugly number you have to work this! you have y(1) find x(1) by the first equation. you should actually get two answers for x

I typoed, It should have been x^2/36 not x^2/26 Solution. -16x/9y is -16(1)/9(7.88811) or -0.225374364426685
