Jones and Brown start from two points, which are 375 miles apart and travel toward each other. brown travels twice as fast as jones. They meet in 5 hours. Find the rates per hour.

That means that in 5 hours the two cover a combined distance of 375 miles. We are given that brown goes twice as fast as jones. we can call jones' speed "x" and we can call brown's speed "2x". Remember that rate x time = distance. So now use the 5 hours to make an equation that can be solved. 5(x) + 5(2x) = 375 Solve that and you should get your rate. Does that make sense?
yes so jones will be 25mph while brown is 50mph?
