OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Can 70x^4(16/x) be written as 1120x^5 or do those have different values?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

those are different values...(70x^4)(16/x) should be 1120x^3

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Really? Don't I have to multiply both term thingys by "x" making it x^5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is your equation saying (70 times x to the 4th power) times (16 divided x) ? because if it is then the x on the denominator will cross cancel with one of the x's in the numerator leaving an x to the 3rd power in the numerator alongside 70 times 16... your answer will become 1120x^3 then
