OpenStudy (sasogeek):

if a steel ball is placed on the top of a level table, it will remain there. 1.what forces are acting on the ball in this situation? 2.Are there unbalanced forces acting on the ball? 3.if the steel ball is given a slight push, what happens to the ball? 4.what forces act on the ball after it has been pushed? 5.Are any of these unbalanced forces?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

1. Normal force and gravitational force 2. No 3. It moves (?) 4. Applied force, normal force, gravitational force and friction 5. No 6. I think this should be a Physics question not a Mathematics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there might be acceleration after this push actually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gravity - 9.81m/s and friction. The ball is not in motion so there are no additional forces.
