Why would each of the following pairs of solvents would be a poor choice for carrying out a liquid-liquid extraction: Isopropanol & Water. Water & Kerosene

isopropanol is miscible in water so wouldn't be any use. Kerosene im not sure about but i think its a mixture of hydrocarbons which could make it less useful?
