Screenpresso seems to do the job. It has a free version, but it drops a watermark on the lower right-hand corner. I can record a region or the whole screen. Narration is optional. See example.

Jing is also a pretty good tool, the free version works pretty well, also there is http://www.screenr.com/ which does a pretty good job, only problem is everyone can access your video
