what is x^4+7x-18=0 solved and put in a+bi form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

really? this is a polynomial of degree 4. how are you supposed to find the zeros?

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Yes ... what methods do you have for this sort of thing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i am hoping there is a typo here. since it is asking for \[a+bi\] i assume you are not asked to find the roots by graphing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you use the complex #'s formula if i knew how to do it i wouldnt be asking you guys

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok you can cheat and use software, but you will see that it is going to take you at least 10 minutes just to write the answer down. you can check out the formula for finding the roots of a polynomial of degree 4 here http://www.josechu.com/ecuaciones_polinomicas/index.htm but i seriously doubt it will help much

OpenStudy (jamesj):

@sick (?) : can you confirm the equation is indeed x^4+7x-18=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is the right equation but ill just skip it
