first make it all a fractoin : (7*8+1)/8 + (2*4+3)/4+(1*3+1)/3
find a common denomination so :

8, 4, 3 all have 24 as the closest possible denomination yielding

(7*3*8+3)/24 + (2*6*4+3*6)/24 + (1*8*3+8)/24 yields
171/24 + 66/24 + 32/24 (you can check by dividing thorugh it will yield the same numbers as your question above)

now just add through so

171+66+32 = 269

so 269/24 or 11.208 or 11 5/24
