A company's monthly profit, P, from a product is given by P = −x2 + 105x − 1050, where x is the price of the product in dollars. What is the lowest price of the product, in dollars, that gives a monthly profit of $1,550?

OpenStudy (agreene):

So, basically it's telling us that P is profit, that function will give us the profit of a product costing x. The question being, what product (x) gives a P =1,550 Plug in for P and solve for x. 1550 = -x^2 + 105x -1050 You should find roots at x= 40 and 65. Pick the lowest answer, let me know if you get stuck finding the roots.
