if the side of a cube is say \[x\] then the surface area would be \[S(x)=6s^2\] if i am thinking straight

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if i was thinking straight i would have written \[S(x)=6x^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oops this is the wrong problem again, sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then if we think that x is a function of t, i.e. \[x=x(t)\] then \[S'(t)=12x(t)x'(t)\] by the chain rule

I know that the answer to that problem would be 36
