please help y=/2x-1/+4

You want to know how to graph this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please n its absolute value and graphs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to graph y=|x|?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

noee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so first you need to know how to graph y=|x| before you are able to graph that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u please help me do it pleaseee

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats a crappy drawing of y=|x| basically Y equals to what ever x equals to. so if x = 4 then y = 4 and if x is negative y will still be positive because the absolute value only gives positive answers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so thats the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats the answer for y=|x| now for y=/2x-1/+4 you have to raise the parent graph (y=|x|) 4 units up and 1 unit to the right and it will have a horizontal compression by 1/2
