factor 20c^2+11c-3

myininaya (myininaya):

\[Ac^2+Bc+C\] we need to find two factors of A*C that have product A*C and have sum B A=20 B=11 C=-3 A*C=20(-3)=10(-6)=5(-12)=15(-4) B=11=15-4 =====> Bc=15c-4c so we have 20c^2+15c-4c-3 we factor by grouping now the first two terms have gcf=5c the second two terms have -1 in common so we can write 5c(4c+3)-1(4c+3) we have terms now and they both have the factor (4c+3) in common so we can write (4c+3)(5c-1)
