The thing about this problem is that the total distance traveled by both trains is 200 miles to the meeting point.

Let t be the elapsed time for the B to NY train, speeding at 65mph, to meet the other train after leaving  Boston.  Solve the following for t:
( (40*2 ) + 40 t ) + 65 t =200
t = 8/7 hours
The trains meet at 6:08:34 PM
