can someone explain for me why cytoskeleton is important?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it basically helps maintain the cell's shape. also, the internal movement of the cell's organelles could not happen without the cytoplasm.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The cytoskeleton is a cellular "scaffolding" or "skeleton" contained within a cell's cytoplasm and is made out of protein. The cytoskeleton provides the cell with structure and shape. It has structures such as flagella, cilia and lamellipodia and plays important roles in both intracellular transport (the movement of vesicles and organelles, for example) and cellular division.
