What Biology textbook would you recommend?

http://www.amazon.com/Biology-8th-Neil-Campbell/dp/0805368442/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1318560912&sr=8-3 I'd recommend the 8th edition of Campbell Reece. There is not much difference between it and the 9th edition except about 150 dollars.

I like the 8th edition of Campbell Reece too

OpenStudy (blues):

Depends on what kind of biology you're interested in. Campbell Reece is a survey book - everything from proteins to ecology. Definitely don't opt for a newer version. There isn't much difference between any of the versions, except price of course. For molecular biology, I and many others like "Molecular Cell Biology" by Lodish, et al. There are a few versions out. The 2002 edition is relatively inexpensive by now and superb.
