i have 2 possibilities of how a heater and a kettle can be connected..both the heater and the kettle need 220V to work to its full potential... In circuit A..they are connected in series..and in Circuit B they are connected in parallel... Will the kettle and heater work to full potential in circuit A? explain the answer with the aid of a short calculation..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, when they are in series the voltage will be split between the 2. v1+v2=vtotal. When they are in parallel they will both get 220 V

OpenStudy (anonymous):

power= \[v^{2}/r\] . As voltage drops the efficiency drops as well.
