Where B is the strength of the field, N is the number of coils of wire, mu is the magnetic permeability of the core, I is the current, and L is the length of the magnet. You could design an experiment to test any of these variables. The easiest would be to see how the strength of the current or the number or coils affects the magnetic field strength
