slant height - use pythagors theorem on the triangle 5^2 = 3^2 + x^2 x = sqrt(25-9) = 4 lateral area = 1/2 * 6 * slant height = 3*4 = 12 altitude - use pythagoras on the red triangle 4^2 = 3)^2 + h^2 h = sqrt (4^2 - 3^2) = sqrt 7

total area = area of base + 4 * area of lateral sides = 6^2 + 4* 12 = 84
