Ideas for math poster? Medals for everyone!!

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Needs to be about a math rule that everyone makes a mistake on

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

You know how (2x)^2 = 4x^2 ? But sometimes people write 2x^2 instead

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

how can i make it creative?

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

even if i dont use your ideas ill still give you medals so brainstorm anyways?? xD

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Your name inspired me. A cartoon picture of a couple of sheep looking confused, annoyed, vexed, some with only half a body, whatever, with this caption: "If 12 legs means three sheep, why do some people think 8 legs + 4 legs equals 1 1/2 sheep?" \[\frac{8 \ legs}{4\ a \ sheep} + \frac{4 \ legs}{4\ a \ sheep} \neq \frac{8 + 4 }{4+4} = 1 \frac{1}{2}\] "Remember \[\frac{a}{b} + \frac{c}{d} \neq \frac{a + c}{b + d}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mathletes Anything about Pi "If i were tangent, you would be the cotangent. that way, together we would be 1"

OpenStudy (pottersheep):

Hahaha thanks JamesJ I like your idea =))))

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Cool. You could also mix it up with other animals, maybe make more than one post: Two cats eyeing two birds in a bush: "Why some people think 2 cats and 2 birds are just 2 animals?" \[\frac{ 8 \ \ cat \ legs}{4 \ \ a \ cat} + \frac{ 4 \ \ bird \ legs}{2 \ \ a \ bird} \neq \frac{8+4}{4+2} = 2\] etc.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Anyway -- if you go ahead and make anything, let me know!
