Enter a one- or two-word answer that correctly completes the following statement. If the constant force is applied for a fixed interval of time , then the _____ of the particle will increase by an amount at.
velocity
t hat's what I was thinkign too, but I wasn't sure. Thanks!
Constant Force, means constant Acceleration, Newton second law. F=mA. Acceleration is the change in velocity over time. A= dv/dt . So in order to keep A constant, you have to increase both Velocity and Time. Time however is a fixed quantity, it starts at zero and goes to t_o, so you must increase your Velocity in order to keep the ratio dv/dt constant. Also another way to look at it is A=dv/dt if we intergrate by dt we are left with the integral of adt = the intergral of dv, which in turn means AT=V. or Acceleration times Time equatl Velocity
