5x(x-9) = 0 x =0,9

thanks mike!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Check: X=0 5*0=-45*0 True X=-9 5(-9)^2=-45*(-9) 5*81=405 405=405 True

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks for catching that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You are welcome

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you wouldnt mind showing me how you got the 0 would you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-9 isn't a solution. and the zero is from if x=0 then 5*0=0, and 0*(x-9) is 0 as well as the right side, which is also 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-9 isnt a solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

my bad, i meant 9 isn't a solution

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x(x+9) = 0 x =0, -9 should have been that
