Please help me, I dont understand how to derive anything. Is there some type of formula? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. The derivative is quite easy. Take \[x ^{2}\] for example. You take the exponent, put it in front of the number (2x), then subtract 1 from the exponent. This gives you \[2x ^{1}\]. x cubed yields [3x^{2}\]. If you have \[6x ^{2}\] You would multiply the 2*6 to give you 12, subtract 1 from the exponent to get 12x^1. It gets trickier for other types of mathematical formulae, but this is the easiest.
