is f(x)= e^x onto (for all real numbers) explain

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

When a function is onto, this means that the range is the largest set possible (in this case, the set of all real numbers) But the range of e^x is [0, infinity), so this function is NOT onto.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to be pedantic, the range is \[(0,\infty)\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

oh right, my bad
