36s-49s^3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

36s-49s^3 s(36-49s^2) s(6^2-(7s)^2) s(6+7s)(6-7s) So 36s-49s^3 completely factors to s(6+7s)(6-7s) In other words, 36s-49s^3 = s(6+7s)(6-7s)

ok i have a^3+27 (a+9)(a^2+3)

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

close...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

am i missing something in the middle?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

by the sum of cubes formula a^3+27 a^3+3^3 (a+3)(a^2-3a+3^2) (a+3)(a^2-3a+9) So a^3+27 factors to (a+3)(a^2-3a+9)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup i was

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

you have the right form, just missing some stuff

OpenStudy (anonymous):
