find the LCM. 35b^2a^4, 5b^8a^2, 14b^4a^2

70b^8a^4

first you find the lcm of the coefficients (the "numbers"), then the lcm of the "b"s, then of the "a"s. Each individual lcm will only have numbers OR "b"s OR "a"s in it, so when you multiply them together, you get the lcm of all 3 types combined.
