I found a thread there that said: "Server issues are something we know about, and are still trying hard to fix. Hopefully some more easing comes with the big new version early next week." Interesting. May explain a few things.

Hopefully they actually do fix the issues.

I was gonna say that it wouldn't matter since I was assuming most of the issues were likely with the javascript coding, but yeah now that I think about it most of the issues really are all connection related. Here's to hoping they fix things.

Got a response from the admins!  Here it is:
"Hm. This sounds worse than what we've been experiencing in some ways, particularly the random reloads. We're dealing with some relatively heavy load issues which we're trying to address; we've already made some fixes, but each round just moves us a little further and then still shows problems. We're making the tweaks every day, hoping that we've addressed the major stuff by mid next week."
