It is the responsibility of a citizen to know the federal, state, and local laws and to respect and follow them. It is also the responsibility of a citizen to participate in your community and in the governing of the country.
One has to know how the government works in order to do anything or make any kind gf change, or even just to obey the law.

Public Education allows every citizen an equal foundation of learning. As an educated citizen, you can not only make an informed decision on who to vote for but also and informed decision on virtually any issue presented in society.
