which branch of government do you think is most responsive to the will of the people? should the branch have more power then the other two branches? why or why not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The legislative branch is by far the most responsive, indeed they are the embodiment of the will of the people. Technically, the Legislative branch should be the most powerful, and on paper they are. Unfortunately, because of the inherently fractured nature of the legislative body, their power rarely reaches its full potential. The founders intentionally made each branch coequal to one another because they feared the potential tyranny that may come from either were they to be more powerful than the next. Taking a que from Baron de Montesquieu's masterpiece on the separation of powers, the founders decided that no branch should ever be greater than the others or else inevitably that branch would end up taking all powers from the others.
