Kevin and Conner tracked their exercise last week. Kevin ran 4 times around the school track, 11 times around his neighborhood, and 5 miles on the treadmill. Conner ran 20 times around the school track and 6 miles on the treadmill. Write and simplify an expression for the total combined distance that Kevin and Conner ran. Show your work. Use t for the distance in miles around their school track and n for the distance in miles around Kevin’s neighborhood.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

24t +11n +11

OpenStudy (radar):

Kevin =11n+4t Conner=20t Combined equals: 24t+11n Conner had no neighborhood run, and trteadmill time was no distance.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought that the distance was 11 miles. They ran 6 miles and 5 miles on the treadmill.

OpenStudy (radar):

Note that the problem did not assign a distance variable for the treadmill, I assume that they were merely exercising and not traversing any distance on the treadmill the problem would exclude the treadmill, but you may be correct Pedro please note, that my solution may be in error because of a false assumtion.
