In this unit, you studied the complexity of two profound human experiences: love and loss. One author, G. K. Chesterton, believes, "The way to love anything is to realize that it might be lost.” Do you agree or disagree with this quotation? Provide one example from your coursework and one example from real life to support your conclusion; be sure to explain your examples and answer in complete sentences.
Older people tend to value their relationships more because they have experienced loss. I know because I am an older person. I value my relationship much more now. This is the way it goes: first you lose your grandparents, then you lose your parents, then you are concerned about your own mortality. Also alot of older people have lost their spouse thru death or divorce. My 1st husband had a fatal heart attack in front of me. Now, I have a realtionship with a man that has been going on for 5 years. Because my grandparents, parents, and my first husband have passed away I really love my gentleman friend. When you experience loss you value love.
