A line has the equation y = 2x + 3. any line perpendicular to this would have slope of?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

flip the slope and negate it

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i hope that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slope is 2, so would the one perpendicular to it be -2?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

almost; - is right, but to flip something is to take its reciprocal 2/1 would flip to 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or -1/2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats the one :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
