Experimental group does receive the independent variable.
Constants are the conditions of the experiment that do not change. (for example, if you keep both groups in a room that is at a constant temperature of 70degrees, then the temp would be a constant)
Trials are the several different times you conduct the same experiment in the exact same way to reach your conclusion.
