The various types of tissues found in the human body are: 1. Epithelial tissue - They are found lining all the internal and external hollow organs such as the mouth. They protect the lining. They are protective, absorptive and secreting in function. 2. Nervous tissue - They conduct impulses from the brain to the sense organs and vice versa either electrically or chemically. 3. Connective tissue - They connect organs together. Two examples are tendons that connect a muscle to a bone and ligaments that connect a bone to another bone. 4. Muscular tissue - They are the tissues found in the muscles. They are of three types: striated, smooth and cardiac.
