An airplane has a mass of 29000 kg and takes off under the influence of a constant net force of 42500 N. What is the net force that acts on the plane's 72-kg pilot?

Nice question.. Pretty Tricky.. it was value jet, the plane would just crash in the everglades.. but since it apparently isn't..... For the plane: Take the F_net = m*a (newton rocks) 42500N = 29000kg * a Solve for a... a = 1.4655........ This means the plane is only accelerating at 1.47 m/s^2 For the Pilot, he feels this.. But since he is much lighter, he amount of force it take him to accelerate at that same speed is: F_net = 72kg*1.47 = 105.51...... Netwons
