?

You have many alveoli in your lungs. The gist is that if they become blocked, then oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange would be unable to occur. Without oxygen, tissue perfusion goes down and organs begin to shut down. In addition, with too much carbon dioxide, your body can go into metabolic acidosis.

thanks :)

Exchange of gases will not take place smoothly. The person might end up getting suffocated because the blood received by the left ventricle of the heart will contain a lot of carbon dioxide as well as oxygen which will automatically decrease the supply of oxygen to various parts of the body and can sometimes prove to be fatal.
