What is the meaning of is in the following 3 sentences: 5 is the square root of 25 5 is less than 10 5 is a prime number

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

5 is the square root of 25 means that when you multiply five to five, you get 25. 5 is less than 10 means that 10 - 5 is a positive value 5 is a prime number means that 5 only has 2 factors (i.e. 1 and 5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true, true. you haven't explained how the word 'is' is used in any of those statements, though :-(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was hoping you would say\[5 = \sqrt{25}\] \[5<10\] \[\text{let P be the set of all prime numbers}\]\[5\in P\]

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

-_-
