1/3x-4 how do I name the domain

OpenStudy (amistre64):

assume its all numbers and look for a reason that a number would turn the equation bad. usually a divide by zero

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok so how would i rewrite in a f(x) form

OpenStudy (amistre64):

is that all (3x-4) the denom?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

f(x) = 1/(3x-4) if so; then state something to the effect. {x e R|x not equal to 4/3}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's also common to write the domain in the form: 0 < x < 12 I just picked numbers there, not applicable to your problem.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or another notation: (-inf, 4/3) U (4/3, inf) thats better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thank you amister64 I understand lol.....and its fine i understand

OpenStudy (amistre64):
