Is artificial intelligence a subset of mathematics?
No. Physics isn't either. The disciplines intersect and use things from each other. But it's a silly exercise to try and reduce one of these disciplines to be a subset of another.
But didn't some great math 'discoveries' (more like innovations) come from physics?
If anything mathematics is a tool to help understand the theories and principles of Physics.
math is just a tool..... just a tool..... :-(
Mathematics actually predicted/drove much more in physics than vice versa.
that's why medicine is better than math. medicine is not a tool.
agdgd; here's a book for you to read. Go get out of the library "A Mathematician's Apology" by G.H. Hardy. Mathematics is a tool. But is much more than only a tool.
there are many innovations in physics and engineering that have come from work in pure mathematics
medicine is a tool for me. Keeps me healthy. But seriously.... Comments like "Subject X is just a tool" are completely fatuous and say much more about the person saying it than the subject itself.
