Is artificial intelligence a subset of mathematics?

No.  Physics isn't either.  The disciplines intersect and use things from each other.

But it's a silly exercise to try and reduce one of these disciplines to be a subset of another.

"A Mathematician's Apology" by G.H. Hardy.  Mathematics is a tool.  But is much more than only a tool.

Comments like "Subject X is just a tool" are completely fatuous and say much more about the person saying it than the subject itself.
