The physical environment can be broadly categorized into two: abiotic and biotic. The abiotic part of the environment plays an important role in the way we live. Humans obtain all their day to day needs through the non living things. We obtain furniture from trees, we build houses using rocks and so on. So human activities more or less depend largely on the abiotic environment surrounding them. Plants and animals give us food. We get oxygen and rain from plants. So now you might have understood how much the human activities depend on surrounding environment.
