A honda civic moving at 100 km/h is 80km behind a Ford moving in the same direction at 60 km/h. How far does the Honda civic travel before it catches up with the ford?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

tell me about the time at which they started??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no time given sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2 hours. Honda's velocity is 40km/h more than Ford. Assume Ford is stationary at one point and Honda is moving with a speed of 40km/h towards it. Since distance between Ford and Honda is 80km. Then Honda has to travel 2 hours to catch up Ford.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

100t-80=60t t=2 hrs in 2 hours the honda will have traveled 200km, it travels 80km + 120km the ford will have traveled 120 km in 2 hrs
