Provide a unique real world example where quadratic equations might be used.

OpenStudy (kira_yamato):

A ball is tossed at an initial velocity, u m/s at a certain angle theta radians, from position s = 0 at t = 0. The path follows a projectile motion, given by a parabola. There is a gravitational acceleration of g m/s2. Given that the maximum height that can be reached is given by, \[h = \frac{\left( u \sin \theta \right)^2}{2g}\] find the initial velocity when theta = 50˚, g = 9.81 and h = 4 m
