Help please! What were the deficiencies with the Articles of Confederation and how did they affect the United States? How did the founding fathers correct these deficiencies? How did the Constitution solve issues that the Articles of Confederation could not? Use specific evidence to support your answer.

I know that under the Articles of Confederation the colonies couldn't be taxed and because of that it was hard to have a standing army. So when Shay's Rebellion happened it took a while to resolve the conflict. What I can't seem to remember was what other problems the Articles of Confederation had.

The other problem was that the central government was not strong enough to support the states. The states were sovereign powers and expected the national government (a non-sovereign power under the Articles) to handle issues such as Shays' Rebellion.

I agree, They had a weak central goverment, and they were in debt they needed to find a new way thats why they had created the constitution :)!
