If this is the square root of X = 6, and you need to find X, this is the solution: \[\sqrt{x} = 6\] To get rid of the square root, square both sides. the square root of x multiplied by itself = x. but if you do that, you also have to multiply 6 by itself. 6*6 = 36, and \[\sqrt{x} *\sqrt{x} = x\] x = 36.
